Work Abounds
Columbia College starts it’s fall session on September 27th this year and already I can see so many cool art works coming. I am going to showcase a few of these up and coming works here on my page and then mirror this article over at Photoweb. This will, hopefully, broaden the audience for this new work.
Sabrina Raaf is an amazing artist. She is truly a multimedia artist in the sense that she...
Things I Learned Yesterday
Ska sounds weird mixed with country and nu metal.
The Kids aren’t alright.
Acoustic guitar jam sessions suck.
Peapod won’t deliver liquor on sundays.
The little teenage mexican couple from upstiars won’t stop fighting.
Some people think that “taking care of your dishes” means moving them from the table to the sink.
Against all odds, there are some cute girls from Indiana.
I...
A Site I Truly Hate
I truly hate Chicagoist. It is a blight upon the face of good Chicagoan website like Gapers Block and Fuck Corporate Groceries.
These people are Chicagoans who profess to be in love with Chicago when they seem to have settled for Chicago over New York simply because they couldn’t manage to hack that other city.
What would drive someone to put up a site that revels in the mediocrity of Chicago...
Fire v. Adu and Some...ummm Alot of Mexicans
I went to see the Chicago Fire play DC United last Saturday night. The game started off horribly for the Fire. Their ball handling was not good at all and they couldn’t manage to keep the ball out of their end of the field.
Things went a little more smoothly after Justin Mapp scored a goal. I think he really helped put the other Fire player in the right frame of mind. Me, I still had not had a...
I Pine for an Education Revolution
Nathan Borror writes about education theory from that of a student of the system and worker for the system.
As a fellow student and staff member of an institution for higher education I agree with his assertion that something must be done about the current state of education (and core requirements) but I do not think that his anarchic, though idealistic, idea would be achievable in the near...
Work is Teal
At work, someone decided we should paint all of the corridors in our buildings the same color, so they chose a different color for every building. I have the pleasure of being in the Teal Building.
Now, if for some reason, you thought this was a normal paint job, it’s not. Oh no, instead of just doing a normal paint job, they are painting everything including the doors, walls, and ceiling. Word...
My Time is at a Premium, So Hand Me a Premium Beer
I can’t quite remember writing about this here, but, anyway, I started a company with three other guys. We have a very nice office space at 1144 W Fulton Market and we have clients that are generally capable of paying their bills.
I spend my days working on upgrading the network at Columbia College’s Photography Department. I write about issues and other things involved in that work here....
